At noon on March 15, the School of Law successfully held the first Ziguang Mingli Academic Salon in 2024 in Room 110 of the Law Library Building. This event consisted of the twentieth lecture in this series. Professor Pan Weijiang from the School of Law, Beihang University was invited as the keynote speaker. The salon was presided over by Wang Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Law, and attended by more than 20 faculty members and students from the school.

In this lecture themed “System Theory of Law: Theory, Method and Development Prospect”, Professor Pan Weijiang started with the origin of jurisprudence in China, briefly introduced the research status of the jurisprudence school in domestic universities, analyzed the inception and proposal of the concept of system theory of law, and shared his personal research experience in this field, where he had been working for more than ten years. Then, Professor Pan explained in detail the general history and future trend of the development of system theory of law from the perspectives of representative figures, basic contents and research methodologies of system theory of law, the relationship between system theory of law and the movement of system theory of law in the 1980s, and the significance and development prospect of system theory of law.

In the discussion session, the participants fully exchanged their views on the role and influence of system theory of law on the study of sectoral law.

Towards the end of the meeting, on behalf of the School of Law, Wang Gang presented Professor Pan Weijiang with a souvenir card of the Ziguang Mingli Academic Salon, and the event drew a successful conclusion in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere.
