Mr. Guohua YANG is a professor at China Tsinghua University Law School. He is a WTO Appeal Arbitrator for Multi-Party Interim Appeal Arbitration Arrangement (MPIA) and Turkey- Pharmaceutical Products (DS583, 2022); the Executive Vice Chairman at WTO Law Research Society of China Law Society (China WTO Law Society); Associate Editor, Journal of World Trade; Arbitrator, International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC, China) and South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission/Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA, China); Member, Expert Group for Commercial and Maritime Trials, Supreme Court, China; Member, Indicative List for dispute settlement panels, the WTO Secretariat; Distinguished Legal Scholar Award, Beijing Law Society (1999). He was also IP attaché at Chinese Embassy in the United States, Washington, DC (2006.1-2008.9) and WTO Appellate Body member candidate (2016).


He is the author of 20 books, including "Research on Section 301 of US Trade Law" (1998), "Legal Issues on Sino-US Economic and Trade Relations" (1998), "Comments on China’s WTO Cases" (2015) and "World Trade Organization and China" (2016) and The Rise and Fall of the WTO Appeal Body (2020). He is also the editor in chief or contributor in another 19 books, including "Engaging in Lawsuits in WTO: Essays of WTO Hearings" (2015), "WTO and I: from the Perspective of a Legal Person " (2016) and Understanding the WTO Dispute Settlement Procedures (2019).
